REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDSFUNDING SOURCES
CIPE receives funds from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and the U.S. Department of State to develop, implement, and evaluate programs in partnership with local organizations, think tanks, and business organizations. CIPE provides management assistance, practical experience, and financial support to these types of organizations to strengthen their expertise while accomplishing key development goals. CIPE’s staff of regional and technical experts provides ongoing guidance and technical assistance. CIPE gratefully acknowledges support from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the Intel Corporation. MATCHING FUNDS FOR NED PARTNERSHIP GRANTS
Nearly all partnership projects funded through CIPE include matching funds to facilitate the program’s implementation. This allows CIPE to leverage the funds provided by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) with funds from partner organizations to maximize efforts to strengthen democracy and market-driven reform. USES OF FUNDSCIPE’s grants to partners are used to advance policy advocacy, business services, educational programs, and other development goals. Most grants include communication and advocacy components to build policymakers’ support for reform. Grants range from full-scale programs with national business associations and think tanks to integrated small grants that reach grassroots organizations throughout a country.
